On a service trip to Kenya, volunteer participants will have the experience of a lifetime all while helping with our projects.

Our campaigns, typically 8-12 days long, are a combination of teaching local vets and techs improved spay/neuter technique, vaccinating animals against rabies, and making donations of supplies and surgical equipment so that local veterinarians are equipped to continue all of this important work after we are gone.  Along the way we also enjoy visits to some of the most iconic  locations in Kenya, providing a well-rounded experience for our volunteers.

Volunteer Vet Treks crews are made up of primarily veterinarians, vet techs and vet students. We also have positions for non-veterinary family members of our crew (and we put them to work also!). Crew members pay all of their own expenses for travel to Kenya and for the duration of the service trip. In this way, we can ensure that all donations to Vet Treks go directly to program costs including: vaccines, spay/neuter clinic supplies, and the materials needed for training Kenyan vets and equipping them with the surgical instrumentation, medicines and supplies they need to continue this important work.

The One Health philosophy that the health of animals, humans and the environment are linked underpins our efforts. The knowledge, talent and passion that veterinarians and animal care workers bring to efforts to improve all of these areas is invaluable.

You don’t have to travel with Vet Treks to help make a difference. Vet Treks welcomes tax deductible contributions from anyone who wishes to be a part of the Vet Treks vision to improve animal’s lives by purchasing the medical equipment and supplies which are donated to the veterinarians working in Kenya.
